Dog Breed of the Week - Dalmatian
The distinctive "spotty dog" is a friendly, exhuberant and outgoing popular pet.
Intelligent friendly and outgoing dogs that are affectionate and devoted with owners, are child friendly if socialised early, which makes them excellent family pets.
Dalmatians have a willing manner which makes them easy to train, but often need firm handling to avoid “learning” bad habits.
They are medium sized sturdy and high energy dogs that enjoy outdoor exercise and long walks, which can often make them quiet at home.
Short haired and sleek coat that sheds hair and requires regular brushing.

Dalmatians are elegant and striking dogs with a long history,they are thought to originate from Croatia, in the Dalmatia region they are utility dogs and have been used in many roles, they were often used in the past to escort carriages.

Average Height 56- 61 cms. 22-24 ins.
Average Weight: 23-25 kgs. 50-55 lbs. .
Average Lifespan: 10-12yrs.

Dog Breed of the Week - Boxer
Boxers were originally bred for bull baiting and as guard dogs, nowadays they are mainly companions
Energetic and exhuberant dogs that are also playful, agile, inquisitive and tenacious. They make loyal, affectionate family dogs, excellent with children, but can be aggressive towards other dogs if not well socialised.
Boxers are active dogs that require adequate exercise to prevent boredom-associated behaviour such as chewing or digging.
Intelligent and easy to train but they can be quite willful.
Medium sized they are, muscular, sturdy and deep chested and possess short snouts which can lead to some breathing problems and often leads to snuffling and snoring also loose jowls which can result in heavy dribbling.
Short coats that do not require clipping or trimming but regular brushing will be required to cope with shedding.

Average Height: 53-64cm 21-25in.
Average Weight: 25-32kg. 56-70lbs.
Average Lifespan: 10-12yrs.

Graceful, elegant dogs with plenty of energy. Originated in England as a bird dog flushing and retrieving game and also for pointing
A people-oriented dogs they are affectionate, friendly and good natured within a family environment, but can also be strong willed and independent. Kept as a pet they make an ideal family or companion dog,
their friendly disposition makes them suitable pets in families with children, but they do like lots of exercise and need access to areas of open land where they can run free.

Straight, soft, flat coat with feathering to legs, tail, chest and ears. Medium grooming requirements, feathering may need brushing more frequently resulting from mud and debris collected on long walks.


Average Height: 61-69 cms. 24-27 ins.
Average Weight: 25 - 30 kgs. 55- 66 lbs
Average Lifespan: 12 -13 yrs.
